Michael Christopher White, currently known as Mike White of White Lotus, is an American actor, writer-producer, director. He has recently written and directed all of the episodes of The White Lotus for HBO.
What’s The Idea Behind The White Lotus?
The White Lotus, generally speaking, is a satire on a class about social climbers. The comedy on class is based on the corrupt base of the class system in America, and the stories about social climbers have an extensive history within American popular culture.
This show is Mike White’s epic about class division, the abuse of privilege, class divide, and melancholy at the end of middle age in paradise earned twenty Emmy nominations. It is the second highest for any series this year. It’s second only to HBO’s Succession (25) and closely followed by AppleTV+’s Ted Lasso. White alone has been nominated for three Emmys, including writing, directing, Outstanding Limited, or Anthology Series.
Mike White said about his first draft of the project:
“What I wanted to do originally was a show about a couple on a honeymoon. You don’t know the person until they’re in this situation (on vacation).”
Moreover, the show also explored how money affects intimate relationships. This idea is that the person who has money will affect every type of relationship, from guest to employee.
What Should We Expect For Season 2?
White Lotus White Lotus is a show that was born out of necessity, an HBO show that creator Mike White could produce quickly and then shoot in one location -Maui Four Seasons. Maui Four Seasons in the winter and fall of 2020.
The White Lotus is trading in the beautiful sandy beaches in Hawaii for the stunning panoramas of Sicily in the first look at the Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated series.
The series, which is anthology-based, is scheduled to return in October according to HBO, which has released several glimpses of the acclaimed cast. As Season 2 is opting for an entirely new location and White Lotus resort with fresh faces, the images hint at the return of a fan favorite, Jennifer Coolidge’s character Tanya McQuoid.
